Long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing.
Essential oils are added to address specific needs. It can be relaxing, energizing, stress-reducing, balancing, etc. One of the most common essential oils used in aromatherapy massage is lavender.
Heated, smooth stones are placed on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and balance energy centers in the body. Applying gentle pressure with hot stone throughout the body. The warmth is comforting. Hot stone massage is good for people who have muscle tension but prefer lighter massage.
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is done by slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. People often feel sore for one to two days after deep tissue massage.
Although reflexology is sometimes called foot massage, it is more than simple foot massage. Reflexology involves applying pressure to certain points on the foot that correspond to organs and systems in the body.
Reflexology is very relaxing, especially for people who stand on their feet all day or just have tired, achy feet.
In Thai Herbal Stem Massage, traditional healing herbs and oils are wrapped in unbleached cotton and then tied to a stem. Herbal stems are traditional massage tools that have been used in Thailand since ancient times. They help to help release toxins, relieve muscle tension and joint pain and increase circulation in the body.
Thai Herbal Stem Massage combines traditional massage techniques with therapeutic herbs and essential oils bundled up in the stems. The oils and resins are steamed to release their healing properties and are then massaged over the body. The oils are absorbed into the blood stream through the epidermis and they react with the body's chemistry in a sympathetic and gentle way.
The blend of herbs in the stem include Plai, Tumeric, Lemongrass, Kaffir Lime Peel and leaves, Camphor, Tamarind leaves, Sweet Flag, Mountain Ebony leaves, Somboil, Jean leaves, and Eucalyptus all wrapped in unbleached natural cotton. The herbs are organically grown and ethically produced in Thailand.
Combination of Swedish, Dynamic Cupping, Hot stone
A healing technique using Hand-Carved Himalayan pink salt stones in different shapes to ground and balance the body's electromagnetic field, central nervous system and meridians. This unique body massage gently soothe away an accumulation of stress, tension and introduces the minerals from the pink salt to your body . It brings the mind, body and spirit, into balance.
Therapists all over the United States and Canada are learning about this amazingly effective therapy and using it to treat their clients and achieve effects that are cumulative, long lasting, and many therapists report their results as being "miraculous".
Massage Cupping is the combination of massage movements and negative pressure with the use of a suction device on the skin. A cup is positioned at the area to be treated and, depending on the type of cups being used; a vacuum is created within the cup to draw the skin and underlying tissue into the cup. The produced vacuum creates a suction effect that increases blood and lymphatic circulation systemically and to the local area, relaxes muscle tissue and support, draws stagnation, pathogenic factors, and toxins out of the body and releases a many of pain causing factors.
Suction cups rapidly facilitate rigid soft tissue release, loosens & lifts connective tissue, breaks up and drains stagnation while increasing blood & lymph flow to skin & muscles in ways not possible using compression. Another benefit of Negative Pressure Massage is that it really feels great. The pulling action engages the parasympathetic nervous system, thus allowing a deep relaxation to move through the entire body. It is not unusual to fall asleep when receiving this treatment. Clients are surprised at how relaxed, warm, and light they feel – hours... sometimes even days afterwards.
What Is A Body Wrap Treatment
You can’t visit a spa without the words ‘body wrap’ plastered over the menu. That’s because body wrap treatments are very popular and are widely available in spas across Canada. But what exactly are bodywraps?
What are they supposed to do? And are all body wrap treatments the same? Worry no more! Here is the information you need.
What Are Body Wraps?
A body wrap is a spa treatment experience and can also be called a body ‘cocoon’. It begins with some kind of exfoliation, which is a fancy word that means removing dead skin cells. Usually, a spa therapist will use a high-quality scrub to make sure the exfoliation is as efficient as possible.
The spa therapist will then apply oils and ingredients to the body, depending on the wrap. Afterwards, they may wrap you in plastic, blankets or bandages. As you can imagine, body wraps aren’t for those of us who are claustrophobic. But there are many excellent benefits to body wraps that can make this spa treatment appealing.
What Benefits Do Body Wraps Bring?
We all know that a good body scrub brings loads of benefits. But a body wrap can also bring a variety of feel good feelings, depending on its type. As a spa treatment, body wraps can really vary. At Ziba’s Spa we offer two types of body wrap combining with energy healing while your body is wrapped
Hydrating Body Wraps
Hydrating body wraps are fairly simple as wraps go, using a natural body cream to make the skin smooth and healthy. After a body scrub, cream is applied around the body and left for 20 minutes. A hydrating body wrap is great for when your skin is dry and suffering from over exposure to sun.
Detox Body Wraps
We’ve all heard of ‘detox’, but what it essentially means is ridding the body of toxins that make us feel bad. A Sage detox wrap is covered across the body. Afterwards, you’re wrapped in plastic or a blanket and time flows away.
The effects of a detox body wrap can be quite substantial. You’ll feel lighter and healthier.
In Conclusion
Body wraps can be a fascinating experience specially adding an energy healing treatment while you are wrapped. Whether you are a body wrap fanatic or simply curious, we recommend giving it a go at least.

Are you looking for:
• Eliminating toxins and infections from your body?
• Reducing the volume around your waist, thighs, legs, and arms?
• Reducing the appearance of varicose veins and bloating?
• Relaxing and rejuvenating?
This is the treatment for you.
Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness blocks your lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage massage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to help lymph move to an area with working lymph vessels.
A lymphatic drainage massage is a two-step process:
• Clearing: This step releases lymphatic fluid in your tissues.
• Reabsorption: This step moves your lymphatic fluid to your lymph nodes.
People who use this therapy may experience the following:
• Help with the elimination of toxins and infections from the body.
• Reduction in volume around the waist, thighs, legs, and arms
• Faster Athletic recovery from sore muscles
• Reduction in the appearance of cellulite, varicose veins, and bloating.
• Overall feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation
How are lymphatic drainage massages done?
It is done by using a trained technician or esthetician hands and by a Lymphatic Drainage Compression suit. The suit uses controlled air pressure to manually move extra cellular fluid through the lymphatic system.
What is the Lymphatic System
The lymphatic system is often described as the sewerage system of the body as it is responsible for the micro filtration of extra cellular fluid and the removal of toxins and infections. Made up of lymph vessels and lymph nodes, the lymphatic system is a primary part of the immune system which helps keep us healthy on a daily basis.
Why use manual lymphatic drainage
Unlike the cardiovascular system which has 2 pumps (heart and lungs), your lymphatic system doesn’t have any pumps, so your lymph only moves when you move. The lymphatic compression suit has 24 different air pressure cells which when activated in the right sequence, creates a pressure gradient that encourages the interstitial fluids to move through the lymph system. The lymph nodes then filter and help remove toxins before clean lymph gets recycled back into the blood stream as clean blood plasma.
The therapy is extremely relaxing and rejuvenating. It is also quite slimming as participants can often measure a reduction in volume around their waist, arms, and legs due to the removal of excess fluid from the tissues.
What is a lymphatic drainage massage used for?
Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, is a gentle form of massage used to relieve painful swelling in your arms and legs caused by lymphedema.
Lymphedema happens when your tissues retain fluid left behind after your cardiovascular system sends blood to your tissues and organs.
The remaining fluid is called lymph. Normally, your lymphatic system collects your lymph and returns it to your heart via a network of lymph vessels and lymph nodes. When something disrupts your lymphatic system's process, lymph collects in your arms and legs, making them swell.
During manual lymphatic drainage massage lymph from your tissues is moved to your lymph nodes, which eases the swelling in your tissues.
Are there other ways to remove lymphatic fluid from my tissues?
Some people benefit from a mechanical process. In this process, you put a compress suit on . The suit is attached to a pneumatic pump that pulsates and helps your lymph to drain from your tissues to your lymph nodes.
At Ziba’s Spa we combine the lymphatic manual massage by hand and also the suit for an ideal result.
What are some conditions that can benefit from lymphatic drainage massage?
Lymphatic drainage massages are often used to relieve lymphedema following breast cancer surgery. Other conditions that benefit from lymphatic drainage massages are:
• Rheumatoid arthritis: This is ongoing arthritis in your joints causing joint pain, swelling and stiffness.
• Fibromyalgia: This condition causes chronic muscle and joint pain.
• Chronic venous insufficiency: This happens when your leg veins aren't working effectively, making it hard for your blood to return to your heart from your legs.
• Lipedema: This happens when excess fat accumulates in your lower body, blocking your lymphatic pathway and causing lymphedema.
Are there any risks associated with lymphatic drainage massage?
Lymphatic drainage massage is a safe treatment to relieve lymphedema. There are some conditions and circumstances where lymphatic drainage massage is not recommended:
• You have a heart condition.
• You have kidney failure.
• You have blood clots.
• You have an infection.
Talk to your healthcare provider if you’re concerned your physical health might be affected by lymphatic drainage massage.
Will lymphatic drainage massages make my lymphedema go away?
You might not see immediate results from lymphatic drainage massages. If you have several sessions without result, ask your healthcare provider about alternative treatments.
