How does Salt Therapy work?
You lay comfortably in a lounge chair, in a quiet, peaceful room. Soothing music plays softly. The cool air is dry and still, and has a slightly salty tinge. The restful breathing in this environment brings health benefits unavailable in any other conditions.
Dry-salt enriched air contains tiny salt particles that are not noticeable and easily inhaled with natural breathing. By sitting in the Salt Room for a prolonged period, low concentrations of salt are delivered to where it is most needed – deep in the lungs, where the salt then dissolves phlegm in the bronchial tubes and kills micro-organisms that cause infections.
Salt Therapy is 100% natural, drug-free and non-invasive. Although Salt Room Therapy is new to Canada, in many countries in Eastern Europe the therapy is considered a conventional therapy. There is about a 90% success rate with children under the age of 7 in reducing dependence on medication and relieving symptoms. For adults, the success rate is about 70%.
Our therapies can be used as a complementary treatment or as a sole treatment. Salt Room Therapy is suitable for adults and children from the age of 4 months and up. Salt Rooms and Speleotherapy have been widely used with children and the results are so positive and safe that we recommend trying this natural method first if your child is diagnosed with asthma.

What is Halo-therapy?
The word halo-therapy comes from the Greek word, halo, which means salt. This effect is achieved with the use of a special device – a Halo-generator. The halo-generator produces an active dry salt aerosol which is then dispersed into our rooms via a fan process. Dry salt aerosol concentration is controlled using optoelectronic sensors within the room to maintain ideal conditions. At least 80% of the aerosolized salt particles dispersed measures less than 5 microns allowing for effortless absorption.
What role does the water cascade play?
The salt room’s water cascade is built of softwood and special equipment designed to pump salt saturated water (brine) at a slow steady pace. As the brine gently trickles down the branches, it evaporates producing a saline vapor effect within the cave. The room air is enhanced with natural mineral elements derived from salt like iodine, bromine, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, copper, chloride, selenium, and many more (up 84 different elements). These naturally occurring elements are very beneficial to our health and well-being. The water cascade creates a higher concentration of negative ions which is naturally found around flowing water or ocean environments. The water cascade replicates this environment and allows for the absorption of negative ions by our bodies to strengthen our immune system and help balance our body PH levels.
The mineralized air in the salt cave contains trace of the following minerals:
Calcium - increases defensive forces of the body resistance to infectious diseases, normalizes autonomic nervous system, prevents antiallergic reactions, and reinforces bone systems.
Sodium- supports acidic - alkaline balance in the body, osmotic pressure and cell energetics.
Potassium - acts against heart arrhythmia, against edemas and diuretically. Improves conditions of neuromuscular system and motor coordination.
Magnesium - accelerates sending nervous impulses to muscles, acts as smooth muscle relaxant and as calming factor, anesthetizes, speeds up wound healing, lowers arterial blood pressure and prevents convulsions.
Copper - improves function of the producing blood cells, increases hemoglobin level and decreases sugar level in blood, speeds up knitting fractured bones together, has anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effect.
Bromine - lowers arterial blood pressure and prevents convulsions.
Iodine - has anti-sclerotic effect, normalizes fat transformation in the body, and protects against radiation.
Fluorine - strengthens bones and teeth, stimulates immunity and protects against radiation.
- Chronic obstructive
- pulmonary disease
- Circulatory issues
- Ear infections
